Pride and Power was painted in indian ink, and features Bruno, on of the tigers from The Big Cat Sancturary in Kent, UK.

Bruno, a hybrid tiger, was retired to The Big Cat Sanctuary from Paradise Wildlife Park, and became the most well-known and popular of all the cats there. Bruno sadly passed away in May 2014 at the ripe old age of 20.

In this painting, I imagined Bruno as playing the role of Shere Khan in a Jungle Book setting, and like to think of him roaming in his own jungle now. The painting also features a verse within the print from The Jungle Book:

This is the hour or pride and power,

Talon and tush and claw,

Oh, hear the call! Good hunting all,

That keep the jungle law.
