Discover the freedom and delicacy of pastel with Vic's extended Pastel Velour Pad range! Each pad features 10 sheets of 260gsm (120lbs) velour pastel paper and is ideal for pastel artists of all levels.
Regular pad sheet size: 250mm x 350mm (25x35cm)
The fine hairs of the velour surface provide a deep tooth, meaning it can take layer after layer of pastel without muddying. The delicate softness of the surface also means colour can be applied evenly with the pressure of application altering the opacity of colour that is created.
Developed in collaboration with the renowned pastel artist, this pad represents the true choice of the professionals. Though Vic enjoys velour for the many fur textures it allows him to create, his velour pads are ideal for any subject of work, including landscape and portraiture.
As versatile as they are eye-catching, the pads come in two colour ranges: sandy and light grey, and black and dark grey, and also two sizes: regular measuring 250mm x 350mm and large at 350mm x 500mm.

I've dithered about ordering this as I thought painting on velour paper was an extravagance but well worth the money. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!]
Vic Bearcroft Pastel Paper Brilliant for capturing animal paintings. I don't think one can better the effects that are achievable when producing animal pastel paintings with anything but this product, highly recommend. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

An Interesting surface, not that easy to use, but after a bit of practice, it is easier. Very difficult to remove mistakes, so I found the best thing was to trace your image onto tracing paper. Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!]

REGULAR BLACK & GREY VELOUR PAD - 10 SHEETS
Velour paper has a reasonably delicate surface, but the following
tips help you work with the paper.- Use scrunched-up kitchen roll and rub over the surface to remove minor Scratches or indentations before you start work.
- If you pick up dust or hairs on the surface, a lint roller is ideal for removing them. You can also use masking tape rolled loosely around your fingers to remove Debris. This can also be carried out on completed paintings.
- Velour paper does not require fixative, and allows you to use layer upon layer of pastels to create fine detail. It also does not smudge like standard pastel paper, so can be usefully blended.
